Set Up For Success Part 1

Dustin Patterson | Regional Sales Manager, LogiQuip LLC.

In our July and August posts, we discussed the first step in creating sustainable solutions – gathering information and gaining understanding. You have a clear, in-depth understanding of the issues you are trying to solve for, so now what? This month we will discuss how to use that information and understanding to push your project forward.

Create a Core Team. This Team must include Key Stakeholders who will be affected by the changes you are planning to make. This may include some of the key stakeholders you interviewed, staff members who carry a lot of influence over their co-workers, or even employees who you think may try to derail any changes you are trying to make. By having Key Stakeholders be a part of the process, they will be more likely to adopt, and even champion, the changes.

Create and document goals. Now that you fully understand the issues and you’ve got your core team in the room, determine and document the goals for the project. In other words, how will you know your project is successful? Decrease the amount of time spent looking for supplies? Reduce the number of expired supplies? An increase in patient satisfaction? An increase in staff job satisfaction? Make your goals clear, concise, and measurable

Setting your project up for success is a big topic. Stay tuned for next month’s post where we will continue to discuss this step and help push your project forward.
